Duties

• Assist with landscape installation projects including planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and installing hardscape features such as patios and walkways
• Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, and weed control to keep outdoor spaces pristine
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery including excavators and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
• Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and health management
• Manage irrigation systems for optimal water distribution and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Support seasonal tasks like snow plowing and winter storm cleanup to maintain year-round property appearance
• Conduct routine inspections of landscape features for maintenance needs or repairs

Experience

• Prior experience with landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated learners
• Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant identification and plant care techniques
• Familiarity with landscape maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hand tools, and power tools
• Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation is a plus
• Understanding of pesticide management and safety procedures for plant health care
