Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tree Care Aerial Specialist who excels at technical climbing, aerial lift operation, advanced rigging, and precision pruning. This position is ideal for a well-rounded tree care professional who values both high-quality pruning and technical removals and is comfortable using climbing systems, aerial lifts, cranes, and other modern equipment as conditions dictate.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform advanced tree climbing using both Moving Rope Systems (MRS) and Stationary Rope Systems (SRS) in accordance with current industry best practices.
• Climb safely and efficiently with or without climbing spurs (spikes), depending on the work being performed and accepted arboricultural standards.
• Safely operate aerial lifts to perform pruning, removals, rigging, and hazardous tree work.
• Execute advanced rigging operations while protecting personnel, client property, and surrounding landscapes.
• Perform structural, preventative, and natural target pruning in accordance with ANSI A300 standards to improve tree health, safety, and longevity.
• Remove hazardous, storm-damaged, and technically difficult trees safely and efficiently.
• Perform crane-assisted removals as part of a professional tree care team.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, mini skid steers, loaders, and other tree care equipment.
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced climbers and crew members.
• Follow all OSHA, ANSI Z133, TCIA, and Dave's Tree Service safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong professional tree climbing experience required.
• Demonstrated proficiency climbing with both MRS and SRS systems.
• Ability to safely climb with or without climbing spurs using proper arboricultural practices.
• Experience operating aerial lifts in tree care operations preferred.
• Experience with advanced rigging, technical removals, and precision pruning.
• Excellent chainsaw skills and sound decision-making under pressure.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
• Current Class A or Class B CDL preferred. Candidates without a CDL must be willing to obtain one. Dave's Tree Service provides support and training for qualified employees working toward their CDL.
• ISA Certified Arborist, CTSP, or TCIA certifications are a plus.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Compensation

• $30.00–$40.00 per hour depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
• Overtime paid in accordance with applicable law.
• Annual performance reviews.
• $1,500 Hiring Bonus available for qualified candidates.
• Performance bonuses may be awarded based on safety, productivity, work quality, customer satisfaction, equipment care, and professional development.
