Duties

• Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to keep turf healthy and vibrant.
• Maintain landscape features such as planting beds, shrubs, trees, and flower displays with pruning, trimming, and planting.
• Operate hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (trimmers, blowers, chainsaws) safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks.
• Use heavy machinery like excavators for site preparation or hardscape installation such as patios or retaining walls.
• Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscapes.
• Conduct snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe.
• Assist with landscape construction projects including hardscape installation, tree planting, and garden bed creation.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot landscaping equipment and power tools.
• Experience with lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest management.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques such as pruning, trimming, planting, and soil preparation.
• Familiarity with landscaping design principles and hardscape construction methods.
