Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Landscaper/Groundskeeper & Facilities Technician to help maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of our retirement community. This position is responsible for caring for the outdoor grounds while also assisting with minor indoor maintenance projects throughout the community. The primary responsibilities for Landscaping and Groundskeeping, however, to provide a full-time position, there will be times that responsibilies will need to be focused inside the various buildings.

The ideal candidate enjoys working both outdoors and indoors, takes pride in quality workmanship, and understands that a well-maintained environment enhances the lives of our residents.

Essential Responsibilities Grounds & Landscaping

• Maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
• Plant, water, weed, mulch, and prune flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Maintain irrigation systems and report any issues.
• Remove leaves, branches, litter, and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, patios, and common areas.
• Keep walking paths and entrances clean, safe, and attractive.
• Assist with seasonal landscaping, flowers, decorations, and outdoor event setup.
• Perform snow and ice removal as needed.
• Safely operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hedge trimmers.

Light Maintenance

• Clean the various flooring throughout the campus.
• Replace light bulbs and ceiling tiles.
• Hang pictures, signs, bulletin boards, and other wall-mounted items.
• Perform minor painting and touch-up work.
• Assemble furniture and equipment.
• Replace air filters and assist with basic preventative maintenance.
• Tighten loose hardware, door handles, cabinet hinges, and furniture.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks such as replacing faucet aerators, unclogging drains, or changing toilet flappers.
