Irrigation Technician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair various irrigation systems, including sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, and pumps using hand tools and power tools.
• Conduct regular inspections of irrigation equipment to identify leaks, clogs, or malfunctions and perform necessary repairs promptly.
• Adjust irrigation schedules based on soil science principles and weather conditions to optimize water efficiency.
• Perform soil testing and analysis to determine appropriate watering needs for different landscape areas.
• Operate construction equipment such as excavators for major system installations or repairs when required.
• Collaborate with landscape maintenance teams to integrate irrigation systems seamlessly into overall lawn care and landscaping projects.
• Maintain detailed records of system inspections, repairs, and modifications for ongoing management and reporting purposes.

Experience

• Proven experience working with irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of plumbing components, valves, pumps, and electrical diagnostics related to irrigation equipment.
• Familiarity with soil science principles relevant to watering schedules and plant health.
• Construction experience with landscaping projects or outdoor infrastructure installation is highly desirable.
