Grounds Maintenance Laborer

Duties

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers to maintain lawns and gardens
• Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to keep turf healthy and lush
• Conduct landscape maintenance activities like planting, pruning, tree trimming, shrubbery care, and mulch application
• Assist with irrigation system installation, repair, and seasonal adjustments to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
• Use excavators and other construction machinery for hardscape projects such as pathways or retaining walls when needed
• Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep walkways clear and safe for pedestrians
• Maintain safety standards by inspecting equipment regularly and following proper procedures during all landscaping activities

Experience

• Two year's experience in landscape maintenance is required
• Mechanical knowledge related to lawn care equipment, power tools, and basic maintenance tasks is advantageous
• Familiarity with horticulture principles, tree care practices, and irrigation systems will help you excel in this role
• Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or snow plows is a plus but training will be provided if necessary
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to construction sites, landscaping tools, and outdoor work environments
