Job Summary

The Grounds seasonal employee must be able to perform grounds maintenance & landscaping tasks for Sheridan College. Report to grounds supervisor with support from full time grounds personnel.

Zack Houck, Grounds Supervisor

Education/Qualifications

* Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college * Sheridan College Student currently enrolled * Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Understanding of grounds care, chemical usage, and grounds equipment operation and maintenance * Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, horticulture, tree care, mulching, fencing * Operation of equipment, string trimmers, chain saw, hedge shears, blowers and lawn mowing equipment, snow blower, hand tools, etc. * Communication skills required * Computer skills * Ability to organize work tasks and work independently * Establish a safe working environment * Ability to relate to others in a safe and positive manner * Wear proper attire for safety and appearance

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

* All Weather Conditions * Outdoor work with exposure to all elements-heat, rain, snow, ice, dust, mud, etc. * Ability to lift 50lbs
