Groundskeeper

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Groundskeeper to join our outdoor services team. In this role, you will be working alongside our Senior Groundskeeper during a 90-day training and probationary period. This position plays an important role in maintaining the fairgrounds and preparing facilities for events held throughout the year. The ideal candidate is passionate about outdoor work, possesses strong mechanical knowledge, and enjoys working with a variety of tools and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating stunning indoor and outdoor spaces.

Duties

• Grounds maintenance and upkeep
• Building maintenance and general repairs
• Event setup and teardown for facility rentals and fair events
• Seasonal grounds work and projects
• Operating equipment such as tractors, utility vehicles, mowers, and other grounds equipment
• Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for Fairgrounds visitors and renters

Experience

• Experience with grounds maintenance, building maintenance, construction or skilled trades
• Ability to operate equipment safely and responsibly
• Basic knowledge of tools and repair work
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift, carry and perform physical tasks as required

The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, and willing to assist wherever needed to help keep the Auglaize County Fairgrounds operating year-round.
