Assistant Grounds and Landscape Technician

This Grounds and Landscape Technician is responsible for the care, maintenance, and overall appearance of all exterior grounds throughout the Cypress campus.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Assist in daily inspections of all grounds, including roads, sidewalks, lakes, fountains, and landscaped and lakescaped areas. Remove debris and litter; identify and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Perform routine and seasonal grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, weeding, and pressure washing.
• Install and replace landscape features such as seasonal plantings, drainage systems, and hardscape elements.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs to irrigation and sprinkler systems; develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule for all systems and equipment.
• Maintain, clean, and repair tools, vehicles, and equipment; ensure maintenance logs and inventory records are current and accurate.
• Ensure all groundskeeping practices align with environmental and safety standards, including responsible use of fertilizers, herbicides, and water resources.
• Prepare grounds and assist with storm readiness prior to severe weather; serve as a key member of the campus storm response team, coordinating cleanup and restoration following events.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in groundskeeping, landscape, maintenance, or related field.
