Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The Landscape Department is a part of the Office of Facilities, Physical Plant Department, and Business Affairs Section of the University. This unit provides support for the maintenance and operations of all University grounds.

The primary purpose of the Landscape Services Section of the Physical Plant Department is to develop and maintain the grounds and related systems of the main campus and remote areas at such a level of appearance as will attract and enhance the day-to-day lives of students, faculty, and staff and thereby promote morale and engender community price, and provide maintenance, repair and refueling services to the university and other state-owned and operated vehicles, and keep them in safe operating condition. Recycling solid waste to reduce total volume is one of the primary purposes of the Landscape Services section.
