Groundskeeper & Facilities Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Connect Church is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Groundskeeper & Facilities Coordinator to help maintain a clean, welcoming, and excellent environment for our church family and guests. This individual will oversee routine grounds maintenance, facility upkeep, event setup, minor repairs, and volunteer coordination related to landscaping and janitorial needs.

The ideal candidate takes pride in creating excellent environments, works well independently, and enjoys serving alongside volunteers to support the mission of the local church.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Care & Cleanliness

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming church environment.
• Remove trash following services and ministry events.
• Monitor facility needs and communicate maintenance concerns.

Grounds & Landscaping

• Mow, edge, and maintain church lawns and landscaping.
• Refresh flower beds and garden areas.
• Water landscaping as needed.
• Maintain the overall appearance of church grounds.

Event & Ministry Support

• Set up and tear down spaces for services, events, and ministries.
• Prepare the sanctuary for weekly worship services.
• Reconfigure rooms for ministry activities, meetings, and special events.

Volunteer Leadership

• Recruit, organize, and lead landscaping and janitorial volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer workdays and projects.
• Encourage a culture of excellence and stewardship.

Minor Repairs & Maintenance

• Perform basic facility repairs and upkeep.
• Complete minor projects such as drywall patching, fixture replacement, and hardware repairs.
• Assist leadership in identifying larger maintenance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience with landscaping, construction, facility maintenance, or handyman work preferred.
• Ability to lift, move, and set up tables, chairs, and equipment.
