Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

The Grounds Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and participating in the maintenance and enhancement of the College’s grounds, landscapes, irrigation systems, and outdoor facilities. This working supervisory position oversees ground maintenance personnel, assigns and inspects work, develops and implements grounds maintenance and landscaping programs, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards. The position performs and supervises a variety of ground maintenance activities while coordinating personnel, equipment, and resources to maintain a safe, attractive, and functional campus environment. Minimum Qualifications Required* Two (2) years of progressively responsible grounds maintenance, landscaping, or turf management experience * Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a related field * Possess a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator Certification or obtain certification within one (1) year of employment. The College will reimburse approved certification costs * Possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications Preferred:* Associate degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Turf Management, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution; OR an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience * Current North Carolina Pesticide Applicator Certification * Experience with irrigation systems, landscape design, and grounds maintenance budgeting
