Full-Time Irrigation Technician

Irrigation Field Technician – Heads Up Sprinkler Systems, Inc.

Heads Up Sprinkler Systems is an established irrigation contractor serving the Hampton Roads area. We're growing and looking for dependable, hardworking people to join our field team. Candidates with a background in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical trades are strongly encouraged to apply and may qualify for higher starting pay based on experience.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM (hours vary by workload)
• Saturday availability required on an as-needed basis

What We're Looking For

• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to use basic hand tools, handle a shovel, and lift 40+ lbs
• Valid driver's license required
• Backflow certification preferred but not required
• Experience in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields is a plus — and may qualify you for higher starting pay

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems including controllers, valves, heads, and sensors
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and adjust systems for proper coverage and efficiency
• Perform trenching, pipe installation, and system startups/winterizations
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional jobsite
• Coordinate with team members and clients to meet project timelines and quality standards

Compensation & Benefits

• Starting from $18.00/hr — pay commensurate with experience
• Mechanical, plumbing, or electrical trade experience may qualify for higher starting wage
