Shift
Two days per week
7:00 am to 3:30 pm
ASAP - Nov. 11 (seasonal)
Duties
Under the direction of permanent staff, candidate will serve as a trail steward (one day out of each work week). Duties will include walking the trail system and using hand tools to remove minor obstacles while reporting larger obstacles or hazards to certified sawyers. The candidate will ensure maps are stocked and trails are clearly marked. Signage repair/installation will be required as necessary. The candidate may also be required to occasionally collaborate with an invasive species removal team.
The candidate will also be responsible (one day out of each work week) for the maintenance of Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site and another NYS Parks property in Greenwich, NY. (State vehicle used during working hours, no use of personal vehicles required.) Duties include grounds keeping, cleaning, operation of small engine equipment, basic record keeping, special projects and other duties as assigned. Candidate may occasionally be required to provide logistical support for programs or events at the site. Candidate will perform water tests. Candidate will observe and report any emergencies when working independently.
Requirements
Candidate must possess a valid driver's license as a condition of employment. Some flexibility in scheduling is possible. Occasional holidays may be required. Grounds keeping or trail maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.19 per hour
