Maintenance / Landscaping Assistant (SEASONAL)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance and Landscape Assistant to join our team for the summer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor work and an understanding of landscaping/maintenance principles and an attention to detail. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of various landscapes, ensuring that gardens, lawns, and the overall camp property are well kept. Additionally, the candidate will assist the grounds Director in completing daily tasks related to the upkeep of the property and daily operations tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, and weed control.
• Execute groundskeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization of outdoor spaces.
• work with the grounds director to complete daily operational tasks of the day camp.
• Utilize hand tools effectively for pruning, and maintaining landscapes.
• Irrigate plants and lawns as needed.
• Monitor areas of camp and report any issues or concerns to grounds director.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

• Experience in landscaping or maintenance is preferred but not required.
• Mechanical knowledge for operating tools and equipment safely.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while performing physical tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to the job at hand.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks that require some physical stamina.
