In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of athletic fields using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment and lead the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader.### Examples of Duties:

* Instructs other members of crews in proper operational procedures and techniques. * Assists the Crew Leader in coordinating the tasks to be performed by the crew; supervises the crew in the absence of the Crew Leader. * May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment. * Rakes leaves and clay infields. * Paints and chalks foul lines. * Cleans grounds and removes litter. * Assists with the setup of fields for practices and games. * Responsible for tools assigned to the truck and will be required to help maintain equipment by use of a checklist. * Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as ball field drag, spreader, and weed trimming equipment. * Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance. * Requires working knowledge of small hand tools such as string trimmers, stick-edgers, blowers, and backpack sprayers. * Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and weed trimming equipment. * Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance. * Operates city vehicles and equipment, such as trucks and trailers. * Uses city-issued devices to electronically track and update work orders. * Performs any other related duties as assigned. ### Basic Qualifications:
