Lead Groundskeeper

*In the role of Lead Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site operations supporting the* *Groundskeeping Manager in maintaining* *the overall appearance and upkeep of outdoor areas within the Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH) community. To perform well in this role, the ideal candidate will have previous* *experience in heavy landscape planning and execution, snow removal, and extensive knowledge about the care and maintenance of plants and outdoor spaces.*

Responsibilities

• Oversee that daily functions are completed safely, efficiently and to quality standards:
• Mow, edge and trim lawns and landscaped areas
• Plant, maintain, and remove plants, flowers, and trees
• Water and fertilize lawns and landscaped areas
• Prune and shape bushes and trees
• Remove debris and litter from grounds
• Perform irrigation repairs and adjustments
• Prepare and maintain flower beds and gardens seasonally
• Repair and maintain hardscapes, walls, walkway, and other structures on the grounds
• Remove snow and ice from walkways and roads within the community (shovel and/or plow)
• Assist the Groundskeeping Manager with the development and implementation of best practices
• Communicate with the Groundskeeping Manager and co-workers to maintain schedules and coordinate/ prioritize daily tasks for grounds team
• Guide team members when requested or necessary in a positive and constructive manner and in accordance with departmental protocols
• Utilize the work order software to track and manage tasks to completion
• Proficiently and safely operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools including motorized UTV, Skid Steer machine, and Snowblower
