Landscape Technician

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor in landscape maintenance, irrigation, and landscape construction projects.

Performs manual and machinery work in preparing surfaces for planting (Landscape Construction)

Maintains a clean job site picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Inventories and maintains crew's tools

Performs materials handling and storage.

Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.

Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower

Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches

Plant and maintain flower beds, trees, and ornamentals

Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences and other hardscapes.

Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.

Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe

Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers

Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have at least 6 months of experience Valid Driver's License Require with clear motor vehicle report Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Compensation Package: Medical Insurance.
