Landscape Estimator / Manager / Leader In the Green Industry

Summary of Position

The Estimator is responsible for the management of project estimating and proposal submittals. This position will manage existing proposals and build new customer relationships through seeking bid opportunities. Responsible for creating bids to maximize capture rate and maintain company profitability as well as maintain tracking of results.

Job Responsibilities: Estimating

· To establish estimates, communicate needs with contractors and project officials for accurate bids.

· Communicating budget needs to the President, General Manager and Purchasing Manager.

· Manage various bid board formats for potential bid opportunities.

· Create and maintain Bid Calendar for Office Use.

· Set up initial Bid Folder with appropriate information.

· Secure bid proposal required documents: bid processes, plans, etc.

· Complete take-offs to create bids.

· Create item lists including construction material, plant and labor needs.

· Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors as needed to establish accurate quote prices.

· Develop final bid for review with President.

· Follow up on all bids.

· Create and deliver submittals upon bid acceptance.

· Create budget upon bid acceptance.

· Attend pre-con site meetings with the Project Manager, Superintendent and/or Foreman.

· Make a site visit a minimum of once every 4 weeks on large projects or at least once in mid-term for projects one month or less to review progress and evaluate bid and budget.

· Track all bid results for long-term strategic development.

· Seeks and develop new contractor relationships and bid opportunities

· Analyzes processes and procedures, recommend changes as necessary. Maintain and update SOP’s

· Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned.
