Duties

• Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to landscape projects.
• Prepare comprehensive estimates by analyzing material requirements, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Develop accurate project budgets by assessing scope, schedule, and resource requirements while ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating with project managers, clients, and field teams to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Utilize Xactimate for precise cost estimation of materials and services involved in landscape construction projects.
• Review construction contracts and technical drawings to identify potential risks or discrepancies that could impact project costs or timelines.

Skills

• Proven experience managing construction estimating processes within landscape or general construction environments.
• Strong proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan review and markup.
• Skilled in negotiation tactics to optimize pricing and contractual agreements.
• Expertise in estimating material requirements directly from blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with HeavyBid, Xactimate, and other estimating tools for accurate cost management.
• Deep understanding of construction drawing review, interpreting technical details to inform estimates effectively.
• Knowledge of construction site operations, safety protocols, and project management principles.
• Ability to control costs through effective budgeting, cost tracking, and change order management.
• Experience managing contracts, scope changes, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
