The Role

This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver who thrives in the front-end design phase—turning site challenges into compelling, high-quality design concepts, vision packages, and site layouts. The range of projects include urban infill, adaptive reuse, landscape and hardscape design, master-planned communities, visioning, and mixed-use land development.

The Opening

The ideal candidate possesses a strong spatial eye, exceptional graphic communication skills, and the technical grounding to ensure early-stage concepts are both visionary and achievable. Expected responsibilities include:

• Lead Front-End Design: Spearhead the initial phases of projects, including site analysis, zoning/code evaluation, programming, and conceptual design.
• Concept & Visioning: Develop vision, design narratives, character imagery boards, and high-quality concept design packages that clearly communicate the design intent to clients and stakeholders.
• Site Planning & Iteration: Quickly generate and test multiple site layout iterations, balancing vision, constraints, and client goals.
• Client Collaboration: Present design concepts directly to clients, municipal boards, and multidisciplinary project teams (civil engineers, architects, developers). Translate feedback into refined designs.
• Seamless Transition to CDs: Ensure that the design intent established in the schematic and design development phases is achievable for a seamless transition to the construction documents phase.

Expectations

• Experience: 5–10 years of experience in a landscape architecture, urban design, or multi-disciplinary AEC firm.
• Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Professional licensure is preferred but not required.
