Please apply online at SAU39.orgHead GroundskeeperJOB DESCRIPTIONGeneral Summary: The Head Groundskeeper is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of all athletic fields and irrigated areas of the school district properties. The Head Groundskeeper will ensure that these grounds are kept in top condition for full and productive use. The Head Groundskeeper is responsible for assisting in snow removal and supervision of part time summer workers in all ground care activities.Essential Functions: - Perform all ground care activities including, but not limited to mowing, edging, hedge trimming, weeding, raking, leaf disposal, planting, and debris/sand removal.- Perform and supervise the preparation and application of herbicides and insecticides to grounds in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.- Remain up to date and informed on current practices of job related functions and maintain appropriate certification and training hours as required.- Perform all tasks related to preparation of athletic fields for games and practices including field paint lining, chalk lining, and layout of athletic fields according to school athletic division specifications.- Maintenance, operation, and programming of all district irrigation systems.- Removal of snow and ice as necessary to provide a safe environment at all school district properties. Must be available for snow and ice removal on nights and weekends when necessary- Maintain all grounds equipment, including corrective and preventive maintenance.

Record keeping of maintenance must be forwarded to the facility department in a timely manner.- Maintain inventory of all grounds equipment and supplies.- Trash cleanup after all activities on athletic facilities.
