Groundskeeper

The Scruggs Company is currently looking for a Groundskeeper at our South Georgia division. The Groundskeeper will landscape and maintain grounds of property using hand and/or power tools or equipment. Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Primary duties

• Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chain saws, trimmers, electric clippers, and pruning saws.
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
• Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, or fences using hand or power tools.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots or other grounds features.
• Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
• Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
• Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
• Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.
• All other duties assigned or required.
