Groundskeeper

Overview

Responsible for keeping the grounds of the property in an attractive condition; for keeping exteriors, common areas, vacant apartments, sidewalks and alleyways of the property in a clean and safe condition. Assist in other types of maintenance when necessary.

Responsibilities: * Maintains property grounds of community. * Waters lawn, shrubs and flowers as needed. Picks up litter on grounds. * Sprays with insecticides as needed. * Maintains watering and drainage systems. * Assists in inventory control and upkeep of all grounds equipment and supplies. * Assists with any emergency maintenance. * Cleans all hallways and common areas including laundry center. * Cleans all parking areas. * Cleans all sidewalks and alleyways. *

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 to 3 months related on the job experience or training.
• Must be well organized and a self-starter.
• Perform general maintenance repair tasks professionally without endangering yourself, residents or fellow associate.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Must be team oriented and a problem solver.
• Maintain professional appearance and manner at all times.
• May be required to work extended periods of time without relief, when responding to priority/emergency situations.
• Stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pump, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device.
• Lift and carry objects of up to 50 lbs. for distances of up to 30 feet.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Mobility and flexibility to use ladders to heights in excess of 8 to 9 feet.
