Groundskeeper

Duties

• Maintain all athletic fields
• paint lines, groom ball diamonds, etc.
• Mow general grounds and athletic fields using zero turn mowers, push mowers and string trimmers.
• Aerate athletic fields
• Repair, maintain, and groom turf field and rubber track surfaces
• Maintain landscape beds and all related pruning and weed removal
• Tree and shrub care, pruning, and removal if needed
• Application of fertilizer and herbicide
• Maintenance and programming of irrigation systems
• Transport of equipment, school furniture, and furnishings
• Playground equipment maintenance and repair
• Winter snow removal, broom, and salt application
• Managing of shop cleanliness and organization
• Building maintenance as needed
• Maintenance on grounds equipment as needed
• Custodial duties as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Technical College credits or degree in related field, 3-5 years experience
• Pesticide applicator certification or ability to obtain certification
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to operate equipment such as a tractor, front-end loader, skidloader and zero-turn mower, aerial lift and forklift
• Good communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
• Basic computer skills
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
• Ability safely lift objects weighing 60-75 lbs. on a regular basis without assistance

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
