We run a 4 x 10 hour schedule with optional work on Fridays [weather permitting].

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Grounds Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in mowing, soft landscaping, and shop/yard duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure properties and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Mowing and Grounds Maintenance

• Operate and maintain commercial mowing equipment (ride-on mowers, push mowers, trimmers, blowers)
• Perform regular lawn care services, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing debris
• Identify and report turf health issues (weeds, disease, pests)

Soft Landscaping

• Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flower beds
• Install mulch, topsoil, and decorative stone
• Assist with seasonal planting and garden design enhancements
• Apply fertilizers and weed control treatments as needed

Shop/Yard Duties

• Maintain and clean landscaping tools and equipment
• Perform basic mechanical checks and minor repairs on tools and machinery
• Organize materials and supplies; assist with inventory and restocking
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in the shop and yard area

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mowing and soft landscaping
• Proficiency with commercial landscaping equipment and basic mechanical knowledge
• Valid driver’s license (required; commercial license is a plus)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

Preferred

• Knowledge of horticulture or turf management practices
• First Aid, or other relevant safety training
• Experience with snow removal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
