Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, appearance, and overall operation of the Gilboa Quarry property and facilities. This position performs a wide variety of groundskeeping, maintenance, landscaping, and facility improvement tasks to ensure the property remains clean, safe, attractive, and welcoming for guests, divers, and staff.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, solving problems, and taking pride in maintaining a unique recreational property. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Front Line Manager and General Manager to maintain a safe, functional, and visually appealing facility.
• Perform routine groundskeeping and property maintenance throughout the quarry and park.
• Mow lawns and maintain grassy areas using commercial mowing equipment.
• Trim grass and vegetation using string trimmers (weed whackers) and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Remove weeds, brush, overgrowth, and unwanted vegetation from landscaped and common areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash, sticks, branches, leaves, and other debris throughout the property.
• Power wash buildings, sidewalks, picnic areas, docks, equipment, and other facility structures as needed.
• Maintain landscaped areas through planting, mulching, edging, pruning, and general upkeep.
• Inspect grounds and facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
• Assist with facility improvement projects, construction projects, and seasonal property preparation.
