Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

The Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, appearance, and overall operation of the Gilboa Quarry property and facilities. This position performs a wide variety of groundskeeping, maintenance, landscaping, and facility improvement tasks to ensure the property remains clean, safe, attractive, and welcoming for guests, divers, and staff.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, solving problems, and taking pride in maintaining a unique recreational property. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and committed to creating a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Front Line Manager and General Manager to maintain a safe, functional, and visually appealing facility.
• Perform routine groundskeeping and property maintenance throughout the quarry and park.
• Mow lawns and maintain grassy areas using commercial mowing equipment.
• Trim grass and vegetation using string trimmers (weed whackers) and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Remove weeds, brush, overgrowth, and unwanted vegetation from landscaped and common areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash, sticks, branches, leaves, and other debris throughout the property.
• Power wash buildings, sidewalks, picnic areas, docks, equipment, and other facility structures as needed.
• Maintain landscaped areas through planting, mulching, edging, pruning, and general upkeep.
• Inspect grounds and facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.
• Assist with facility improvement projects, construction projects, and seasonal property preparation.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
• Maintain parking areas, walking paths, fences, signs, docks, pavilions, and other property features.
• Assist with snow removal, ice management, and seasonal maintenance activities as needed.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Promote a positive team culture and contribute to a productive work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties as needed.
• Answer dive center phone calls and assist customers when necessary.
• Assist in training employees on maintenance procedures and grounds keeping operations.
• Support planning and preparation for events, classes, and group activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
