Estate Groundskeeper & Gardener

A private family estate is seeking a dependable, experienced, and detail-oriented Estate Groundskeeper & Gardener to oversee the care and appearance of a beautifully landscaped 2.5-acre property. This is an opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in creating and maintaining exceptional outdoor spaces and enjoys working independently in a peaceful residential setting.

This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time, with a flexible work schedule based on the needs of the property and the availability of the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate is someone who treats the property as if it were their own—taking pride in maintaining beautiful grounds, anticipating needs, communicating well, and enjoying a long-term relationship with the family. Reliability, integrity, and a positive attitude are just as important as technical landscaping skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Landscape & Lawn Care

● Maintain all lawn areas through mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, and seasonal treatments.

● Keep landscape beds weed-free, neatly edged, and well-mulched.

● Monitor turf health and recommend improvements when appropriate.

Gardens & Horticulture

● Plant, prune, fertilize, deadhead, and maintain annuals, perennials, shrubs, ornamental trees, and container gardens.

● Design and maintain attractive seasonal flower displays.

● Monitor irrigation systems and ensure plants receive appropriate care.

● Identify and address plant diseases, pests, or other landscape concerns.

Estate Care

● Keep patios, walkways, driveways, outdoor furniture, and gathering areas clean and inviting.

● Perform seasonal cleanups, leaf removal, storm cleanup, and general property maintenance.

● Perform minor outdoor repairs and identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems.

Equipment

● Operate and maintain lawn and garden equipment safely.

● Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and in excellent condition.

● Coordinate equipment servicing when necessary.

Property Oversight

● Regularly inspect the grounds to ensure the estate is always well maintained.

● Communicate proactively regarding maintenance needs, improvements, or seasonal projects.

● Assist in preparing the property for family gatherings or special occasions.

Qualifications

● Experience in estate, residential, horticultural, golf course, or high-end landscape maintenance preferred.

● Strong knowledge of lawn care, gardening, pruning, and landscape maintenance.

● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

● Physically able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons.

● Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Schedule

● Full-time or part-time.

● Flexible hours with scheduling determined collaboratively.

● The property is home to two friendly Labrador Retrievers, so applicants should be comfortable working around dogs and enjoy animals.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
