The City of Spokane Water Department is looking for temp-seasonal workers to be a part of our winning team, contributing to the success of our city.

This is a Temporary/Seasonal position that will work up to 40 hours per week and typically last for 6-months in duration. This work is heavy in nature, performed in varying weather conditions, and requires normal attention to prevent errors.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience in grounds maintenance is helpful but not mandatory (IE: mowing, weedeatng, edging, trimming bushes, maintaining planter boxes and beds, and installing sod.)
• Experience in irrigation is helpful but not mandatory.
• Assists in the maintenance of sprinkler systems and performs work in conjunction with the remodeling of systems currently in operation.
• Repairs and replaces sprinkler heads and related irrigation and sprinkler equipment is helpful but not required.
• Equipment repair and maintenance of tools.
• Be able to follow instructions and work independently.
• Operates automotive equipment and a two-way radio.
• Performs related work as required.
• Willing to learn and be trained.

Requirements of Work

* Knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, and materials used in which work is assigned. * Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. * Ability to get along with fellow employees. * Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. * Ability to read and understand manuals and specifications. * Ability to operate motor vehicles.
