We are seeking a highly skilled Lawn Care Department Manager who combines technical turf expertise with leadership ability and strong client communication skills.

This is not an entry-level position.

This role is for someone who wants ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to help lead and shape a growing lawn care department.

Position Overview

The Lawn Care Department Manager serves as the operational and technical leader for our lawn care division. This role bridges the gap between field operations and client relationships by overseeing lawn technicians, maintaining quality standards, diagnosing turf issues, and working directly with clients to deliver solutions.

This individual must be extremely knowledgeable in turf health and lawn care practices and comfortable working both in the field and in client-facing situations.

Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Team Development

• Train, mentor, and support lawn technicians and mowing staff
• Ensure department employees follow company systems and quality standards
• Conduct field training and performance coaching
• Maintain high expectations for efficiency, professionalism, and workmanship
• Identify opportunities to improve department processes and outcomes

Quality Control & Field Oversight

• Perform routine quality checks on lawn applications and mowing work
• Identify and correct performance issues proactively
• Ensure treatments are applied correctly and at proper timing intervals
• Maintain consistent service standards across all crews
