Position Description

The City of Fresno Public Works Department has multiple temporary seasonal opportunities in our Landscape Maintenance Division. Working a 4 day per week, 10 hour per day work schedule, with weekends off. Individuals receive first-hand experience maintaining landscapes on trails and median islands, and in parks and a wide variety of other City landscapes. Keeping our facilities in top notch shape helps to empower residents to acquire skills, live healthy lives, appreciate the beauty of the central valley, and strengthen community connection!

Under supervision, Services Aides may perform any of the following duties

* Assist with all phases of landscape maintenance including raking, weeding, trimming, plant replacement, and landscape improvements.

* Working outside along street medians, buffers, as well as in parks and trails

-Assist maintenance staff with a variety of basic tasks- duties will vary according to job assignment.

* Clean and sanitize park and trail amenities and remove debris and litter from facilities, landscape features, trails, and parks.

* Recognize, avoid, and report unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries.

* Provide information, instructions, and assistance to the public within the scope of authority and training.

* Support the relationship between the City of Fresno and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff.

* Perform other duties as required or assigned.
