Hardscape Foreman — Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Hardscape Foreman to join our construction team. In this hands-on supervisory role you will lead crews installing durable and attractive outdoor hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, and other landscape elements. You will ensure installations meet client specifications, industry standards, and project schedules while maintaining quality, safety, and crew productivity.

Key Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily crew activities; assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate installation.
• Lay out jobs, set grades, and prepare sites by grading, excavating, and setting foundations.
• Oversee and participate in installing pavers, bricks, natural stone, concrete forms, and other hardscape materials with precision.
• Operate and supervise equipment use (skid steers, compactors, saws, mixers) and ensure safe machine operation.
• Perform and train crew on finishing techniques: concrete finishing, sealing, caulking, and surface leveling.
• Conduct on-site quality inspections to verify adherence to design specifications, drainage and compaction standards, and industry codes.
• Enforce site safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and report incidents; ensure PPE and safe practices.
• Coordinate materials, deliveries, subcontractors, and equipment; communicate schedule/status to project managers and clients.
• Maintain jobsite documentation: timecards, materials logs, daily reports, and change order notes.
• Mentor and train crew members; manage basic performance and timekeeping.

Required Experience & Skills

• 3+ years hands-on hardscape installation experience; 1+ years in a lead/foreman role preferred.
• Proficient with pavers, segmental retaining walls, natural stone, and poured concrete.
