The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in advancing the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay’s mission to enrich lives and strengthen communities by creating a safe, welcoming, and sustainable campus environment. This position maintains and enhances lawns, landscaped areas, athletic and common spaces, walkways, and roadways—helping ensure our campus reflects pride, care, and access for all who learn, work, and visit here. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and caring for trees, shrubs, lawns, flowerbeds, and planting beds using a variety of vehicles and equipment; mowing, trimming, edging, seeding, sodding, mulching, and aerating turf; identifying and addressing plant diseases and insect issues; implementing fertilizer and chemical programs; and constructing landscaping projects through soil grading and planting. The Groundskeeper also ensures campus safety and accessibility through litter removal and year‑round grounds maintenance, including full participation in snow and ice removal operations.
