$25.96 To $30.27 HourlyGroundskeeperReports To: Lead Groundskeeper, Director of OperationsPay Range: $25.96 $30.27 per hour per FY 20262027 Maintenance CBA Wage ScaleThe Role: To provide students and staff of the District with safe, attractive, well-maintained grounds and superior sports fields.QualificationsHigh school diploma requiredAbility to perform duties in varied climate conditionsAbility to work well under stressExperience maintaining grounds equipment and machineryValid State of Maine drivers license appropriate to assigned vehiclesAcceptable driving record for district insurance purposesAbility to demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilitiesResponsibilitiesMaintain and care for school grounds, including sports fieldsPrepare seeding or transplanting beds by cultivating soil and adding fertilizer or chemicals as neededPlant seeds, bulbs, tree seedlings, and shrubs to support landscape appearanceAssist in selecting lawn and flower seed varieties suited to soil conditionsPrune trees and trim hedges to promote growth and appearanceMow lawns using hand or power equipment; operate weed trimmers and leaf blowers as neededSet up irrigation systems and water lawns and flowerbedsMonitor plants for pests or disease and report concerns to Lead GroundskeeperAdjust and repair grounds equipment such as mowers, sprinklers, and hand toolsShovel snow and apply sand, salt, or other materials for safetyCollect and dispose of leaves and refuseMaintain and repair bleachers, outdoor furniture, and outbuildingsPerform custodial duties indoors during winter months as assignedCarry and respond to on-call phone duties as assigned (compensated)Participate in ongoing training and professional developmentPerform additional duties assigned by Facilities Manager or Lead GroundskeeperCore CompetenciesAttention to detail: Commitment to accuracy and quality in all tasksTeam player: Supports colleagues and contributes to shared successCritical judgment: Uses sound decision-making to resolve issuesProcess commitment: Follows and improves established proceduresFollow-through: Completes tasks reliably and communicates progressCalm under pressure: Maintains focus during challenges and emergenciesRespect for diversity: Values inclusion and diverse perspectivesReasonable Accommodations: RSU 21 provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or applicable law, unless doing so would cause undue hardship.Terms of Employment: Year-round, 40-hrs/week position.
