Groundskeeper

SUMMARY

Assists the Maintenance/Grounds Crew Supervisor in all aspects of grounds maintenance, including mowing grass, snow removal, planting, pruning, and trimming, watering, and fertilizing plants, as well as having a general knowledge of horticulture and plant species. This is a seasonal position.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate large and small equipment on a daily basis, April through November.
• Prune and trim the trees and shrubs on a weekly basis, November through April.
• Water various plant materials on a weekly basis, May through October.
• Plant and perform general care of landscape materials and landscaping on a bi-yearly basis.
• Preform general manual labor tasks such as removing snow and handling different chemicals of weed control.
• Perform light-duty tractor work such as grading ball fields, filling in ruts, etc.
• Take care of indoor plants on a weekly basis.
• Assist in the Maintenance department as needed.
