*This position is 12 months worked, 40 hours per week and is benefits eligible*

*This position is located at the Facilities, Maintenance, and Operation Department and will operate District-wide*

**This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months to fill current and future vacancies during the eligibility period.**

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor, perform a variety of grounds maintenance and landscaping duties in the beautification of assigned grounds and landscaped areas.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Groundskeeper I

– The Groundskeeper I is the entry level classification in the series and performs general grounds maintenance duties at an assigned elementary, middle, or continuation high school site.

Groundskeeper II

– The Groundskeeper II classification performs a variety of independent grounds maintenance duties including the extensive preparation of athletic fields at an assigned high school site.

Lead Groundskeeper –

The Lead Groundskeeper classification plans, organizes, and participates in grounds maintenance and landscaping activities at various sites to meet the needs of the District. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Mow, edge, trim, and water lawns, fields, and other turf grounds; prepare and fertilize soil; water various grounds areas by hand or by operating the irrigation system; inspect grounds areas for maintenance needs and report conditions to appropriate personnel.*E*
