Position Overview

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appearance of the school’s outdoor areas. This role supports a welcoming and professional environment that reflects the school’s values and enhances the educational experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain the overall appearance of the property to consistently meet or exceed the school’s standards.
• Mow, edge, and trim lawns regularly.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Maintain flowerbeds by removing weeds and planting seasonal flowers.
• Water plants as needed to ensure healthy landscaping.
• Perform daily litter removal throughout the property.
• Clean breezeways and walkways.
• Apply insecticides, fertilizers, and herbicides as necessary.
• Re-seed and replant lawn areas as needed.
• Prune trees and shrubs properly to promote healthy growth and appearance.
• Remove weeds from lawns and all landscaped areas.
• Provide support for community events and functions as part of the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.
