Grounds Maintenance Technician I (B&G)

Job Summary

The City of Greenville's Cemetery Division is currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician I. This position supports cemetery operations by operating a variety of light to medium-duty landscape and construction vehicles and equipment. This includes mausoleum lift, mowers, backhoe, tractor, dump trucks, trailers, sprayers, string trimmers, hedgers, and other associated tools and equipment.

*Regular working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.*

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Examples of Duties

• Maintains cemetery grounds by mowing, trimming, and hedging;
• Maintains roads and paths in the cemetery;
• Assists in marking of graves;
• Assists in digging graves;
• Performs litter patrol;
• Performs maintenance on equipment and tools;
• Performs maintenance and repairs on various structures and facilities;
• Maintains grounds of other city-owned properties;
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

* High school diploma or GED; and * Six months of experience operating various light to medium-duty motorized vehicles and equipment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of
