E03 Position Summary

This position will lead a dedicated team in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, safety, and functionality of campus outdoor spaces. This role blends hands-on expertise with leadership—overseeing daily landscaping operations, coordinating seasonal projects, event preparation and ensuring that every lawn, garden, pathway, and recreational area reflects high campus standards. MAJOR DUTIES

* Oversees the daily activities of grounds personnel and contractors.

* Directs turf maintenance, irrigation, and landscape maintenance operations.

* Directs greenhouse operations.

* Inspects plant materials, trees, shrubs and indoor plants for insect and other infestations and responds accordingly.

* Contributes to and directs new landscape construction jobs; researches appropriate plant species.

* Coordinates and implements ice and snow removal operations.

* Inspects all exterior areas for life safety issues.

* Assists in preparations for special events.

* Trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel.

* Works as a team member and is supportive to the other supervisor positions within the Physical Plant.

* Works to develop and maintain a campus landscape master plan.

* Performs related duties.
