About the Position

Catholic Cemeteries is seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our field operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining the beauty, dignity, and sacred nature of our Catholic Cemeteries while serving families with professionalism and compassion.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform cemetery grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and landscaping
• Prepare graves for burials and assist with interments
• Install memorial foundations and markers
• Operate and maintain equipment including mowers, tractors, skid steers, and hand tools
• Perform general maintenance of cemetery buildings, roads, and equipment
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal maintenance as needed
• Maintain a respectful appearance and demeanor while working around funeral services and visiting families

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Driver's License (required)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus
• Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience is a plus
• Experience operating commercial equipment is preferred but not required

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturdays as needed
