Definition

Tech I

Perform a variety of entry-level skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to care and maintenance of trees and shrubs, including the operation and maintenance of various specialized equipment.

Tech II

Supports the City’s Urban Forestry Program which includes the health, safety and aesthetics of public trees within the City. Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to care and maintenance of trees and shrubs, including the operation and maintenance of various specialized equipment.

Principal Duties

Tech I

· This is an entry-level position structured to train staff to assist with pruning, maintenance, and removal of City-owned trees and other vegetation in City parks, greenways, roadways, and City-facilities.

· Plant, stake, guy, mulch, and water shrubs and trees.
