Position Summary

Coleman Environmental Engineering is seeking a highly qualified Utility Master Arborist to support PG&E's Vegetation Management Program. This position is responsible for conducting expert-level field evaluations and delisting reviews of trees identified for vegetation management work. The Utility Master Arborist will determine whether trees meet established criteria for removal from the work program based on current conditions, arboricultural best practices, and PG&E requirements.

This role requires advanced technical expertise in tree biology, tree risk assessment, and utility vegetation management, along with the ability to make sound, defensible professional determinations in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and evaluations of trees identified within PG&E vegetation management programs.
• Assess tree health, structure, defects, species characteristics, and site conditions to determine delisting eligibility.
• Perform professional tree risk evaluations and document findings supporting delisting recommendations.
• Prepare accurate and defensible documentation using PG&E-approved software and mobile data collection platforms.
• Capture and maintain supporting photographs, notes, and field records.
• Ensure all evaluations comply with PG&E standards, utility vegetation management requirements, and industry best practices.
