Job Description

Purpose

The Grounds Maintenance Seasonal Yard Worker maintains school

grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district

facilities. To accomplish these tasks, the Grounds Maintenance

Seasonal Yard Worker will work under the direction of the Grounds

Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Supervisor.

Grounds and Outdoor Facilities Supervisor

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent, unless actively enrolled in high school.

2. Valid Kansas driver’s license.

Essential Functions

1. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

a. Maintain school grounds in top condition by assisting permanent employees.

b. Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines.

c. Communicate effectively with all members of the school district.

d. Ability to work with a team or independently to handle tasks as assigned.

e. Safely operate equipment and machinery as necessary.

f. Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.

2. Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

a. Requires the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for prolonged periods.

b. Requires to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or

materials.

c. Requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, turn and reach.

d. Requires the ability to climb ladders and balance above ground level.

e. Must be able to work outdoors in all environmental conditions.

f. Must be able to work in noisy and changing environments.

g. Must be able to work in and around dust, fumes and odors.

h. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
