Maintenance Worker & Groundskeeper

Schedule/Hours: Casual

This position is responsible for

Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; performs routine groundskeeping work to ensure the beautification of the landscape; performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work; regularly cleans building and sanitizes as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Mows grass and edges lawns, sidewalks, and curbs; cleans debris.
• Cuts-down trees; trims trees and bushes.
• Ensures proper maintenance of grounds keeping equipment; lubricates mowers and tractor fittings; installs tractor tires as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects (25-50 lbs.).
• Physical ability to "team lift" heavy materials, supplies and equipment (50-100 lbs) occasionally.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
• Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.

Work requires working with cleaning chemicals and may involve discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• AND Two years of experience in handling minor building and maintenance repairs and good skill in the use of hand, lawn, and power tools,
• OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid State Driver’s License

Bulldozer Certification
