Background

Libertas is a public charter school serving the Frayser neighborhood in Memphis. *Our mission is to be a school for human flourishing: cultivating minds, hands, and hearts for lives of wonder, work, and love.* We offer a rich, rigorous, and personalized liberal arts education through the method of Dr. Maria Montessori, with an attachment village of wraparound family supports. Role information

• Role summary: create a safe, healthy, pleasant environment and instill pride in students, teachers, and families by caring for our property and serving as a role model of service.
• Schedule: full-time, hourley postion; hours negotiable
• Compensation: part-time, hourly position paid $14 to $20/hour depending on experience.
• Measures of success: timely, thorough completion of tasks; customer satisfaction; accurate record keeping as needed; performance evaluations based on observation.
• Reports to: Operations team.

Responsibilities and expectations

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks, including but not limited to: Change light bulbs/ballasts; touch-up paint to walls, handrails, etc; tighten plumbing fixtures; remove debris from roof; spread salt/shovel snow; remove debris from downspouts and roof; provide slip protection on wet floors; assemble and move furniture, hang shelves; etc.
• Groundskeeping: Operate lawn mower, trimmer, sprayer, etc to maintain grass and plants. Water landscape, weed, plant, apply mulch, etc.
• Safety. Protect people, property, and equipment against loss or theft by implementing systems in place, such as locking up.
• Conserve energy: ensure lights/water/HVAC are shut off when not needed.
