Landscape Architect

Job Summary

The RGS Landscape Architect is responsible for planning and designing a wide range of outdoor spaces and site development plans. They combine artistic and technical skills to ensure aesthetically pleasing and functional design solutions. Projects range from small scale gardens to large scale land planning designs in both urban and rural settings. Responsibilities include development of conceptual designs, using CAD software to draw plans, development of site grading solutions, construction detailing, planting designs, construction administration and observation, and report writing.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Research, review, and interpret local Zoning, Subdivision & Land Development ordinances
• Perform site layout, grading, and road design within AutoCAD C3D (or the ability to oversee this aspect with a drafter/designer)
• Understanding of utility layout, profiling, and detailing for gravity sanitary sewer and water systems
• Prepare planting plans
• Prepare compelling presentation graphics/ renderings
• Prepare lighting design
• Material and site furniture selections
• Understanding of stormwater conveyance design, detailing, and computations
• Understanding of erosion and sediment control facility design, detailing, and computations
• Prepare opinions of probable cost
• Provide construction phase services including oversight during construction of site related features and planting plans, shop drawing review, RFI responses, CSK preparation, etc.
• Prepare as-built record plans for submission to local, state, and federal agencies
