Grounds Maintenance Tech - Myers Park

JOB Job Description Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Grounds Maintenance Technician. A Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for but, not limited to, performing grounds maintenance duties by maintaining the exterior of facilities. Work is performed under the direction of the Parks Manager.

Primary Functions

• Designing and planting landscapes.
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems
• Applying herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have the knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
• Must have a level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• One (1) year of previous experience is desired.
• Must have the ability to operate skid steers, tractors, and backhoes.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator’s Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
