Duties and Tasks

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of park facilities and grounds, including restrooms, picnic areas, shelters, campgrounds, trails, and common outdoor spaces
• Mow lawns; trim, rake, weed, and clear vegetation; and maintain landscaped areas such as flower beds
• Maintain park trails by clearing debris, trimming vegetation, and completing light repairs
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables throughout the park to keep areas clean and presentable
• Assist with minor repairs to buildings, fences, signs, and park equipment
• Operate and maintain hand tools and groundskeeping equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and utility vehicles, following safety procedures
• Set up and take down signage, barricades, and equipment for events or seasonal needs
• Monitor park grounds for safety hazards and report issues to supervisors
• Support other park staff during emergencies, special events, or high-traffic periods
• Interact courteously and respectfully with park visitors and provide basic information when needed

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor work and willingness to perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work habits
• 16+ years of age
• Ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
