Cemetery Groundskeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cemetery Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our cemetery, ensuring that gardens, lawns, and landscapes are well-kept and inviting. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a passion for outdoor work.

Duties

• Assist in all aspects of cemetery burial operations, including opening and closing graves for casket and urn burials. Maintain and care for gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to ensure they are healthy and visually appealing.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging.
• Perform regular lawn care activities including fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding as needed.
• Irrigate plants and lawns appropriately to promote growth while conserving water.
• Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as planting flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Clear debris from grounds to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests or diseases.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Plow, shovel, sand, salt grounds as needed during winter months.

Requirements

• Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in gardening and landscaping.
• Knowledge of lawn care practices including irrigation techniques.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with groundskeeping, including lifting heavy objects.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• A passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
