Arborist Apprentice/Tree Crew

Fox Forestry is looking for a motivated individual to fill an opening in our forestry and tree service crew. We pride ourselves in specializing in a wide variety of forestry and tree services, and serve a wide area of downeast / mid-coast, and greater Bangor Maine. We complete everything from designing and writing technical forest management plans, technical arborist removals, residential services and insect and disease remediation. The majority of our work is concentrated in and around the Penobscot Bay region, with occasional overnight stays on the outer islands.

Responsibilities include

● Directional felling.

● Assisting arborists with rigging.

● Operating a wide range of equipment

● Assisting with manual labor on job sites.

● Diving Forestry trucks (Class A or B), Hauling loaded trailers with logs, Cutting and chipping woody debris.

Qualifications

● Class B License or Higher (Required)

● Previous experience operating chainsaws and chippers (Preferred)

● Ability and willingness to learn new skills related to the trade

● Valid drivers license with reliable transportation to work

● Strong analysis and critical thinking skills

● Deadline and detail-oriented

Job Type: Part-time/Full-time position
